Christ with Shopping Bags 2004 is an incredibly rare limited edition signed screen-print by the renowned artist Banksy. This piece is one of only 82 making it one of the rarest signed Banksy pieces on the market.

 

The artwork portrays the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but with a contemporary twist. Instead of the traditional cross, Jesus is depicted holding shopping bags adorned with fluorescent pink ribbons, while Christmas presents such as candy canes and Mickey Mouse are visible in the background. The artwork is a satirical commentary on modern commercialism and the hypocrisy of modern celebration.

It is worth noting that the piece the painting 'Christ on the Cross' by Hugo Van Der Goes, a significant Flemish painter of the late 15th century.
